Also around Frankfurt there are venues where a Mediterranean wedding concept can be implemented very well. The Morrhof and this Mussler Winery Those are just two examples. There are other special places that might not look like classic wedding venues at first glance.
For me, it is not about recreating a wedding in Tuscany as closely as possible. Rather, it is about capturing the elements you like about it: a beautiful setting, good food, long evenings outdoors, a relaxed atmosphere, and a design that is high quality, but not overdone.
A wedding with a genuine Tuscan flair
If you want a wedding with Tuscan vibes, you are naturally allowed to show it. For me, olive branches, warm terracotta tones, natural stone, linen, candles and a long banquet table surrounded by greenery are just as much a part of it as good food, wine and a relaxed atmosphere.
This is not about combining as many typical elements as possible. Rather, the Tuscan look is created through the interplay of colours, materials, floral arrangements, lighting and the right location.
A warm, natural colour palette, Mediterranean flowers, high-quality table linen, candlelight and subtle details can completely transform a venue into an Italian-inspired atmosphere.
It becomes especially lovely when the culinary concept matches too: an extended aperitif, good food, selected wines and a long banquet table where your guests can spend the evening together.
For me, a wedding with Tuscan vibes can definitely look like Tuscany – just in an elegant and high-quality way.
It shouldn't look like an artificially staged themed wedding, but rather like a place where you genuinely feel as though you are in Tuscany for an evening.
Morrhof wedding venue on the German Wine Route
The Morrhof is one of the venues in the region that is very well suited for a wedding with a Mediterranean character.
The architecture and outdoor areas already provide a fitting framework. As a result, there is no need to try and create a completely different atmosphere with decoration.
An outdoor wedding ceremony, followed by an aperitif and later a dinner at a long table, can be very well combined here.
When it comes to the design, I would tend to focus on a few high-quality details rather than too many. Beautiful floral arrangements, candles, premium table linen and a well-thought-out colour scheme can be completely sufficient.
On top of that, of course, is what is just as important to me at a wedding of this kind as the visual aspect: good food and good service.
Weingut Mussler as a wedding venue on the German Wine Route
For me, the Mussler winery is a lovely example of how a wedding with Tuscan vibes can also be pulled off in Germany.
The location along the German Wine Route, the vineyards and the ambience of a winery already create a foundation that fits very well with a Mediterranean wedding concept. That is precisely what I find exciting about such venues: you don't have to try to create a completely different world. The surroundings already bring many elements that we can use for the concept.
I would therefore work with the existing conditions here and purposefully develop the Mediterranean feel further. A humanist ceremony overlooking the greenery, an extended aperitif, a long banquet table, warm candlelight and high-quality, natural floral arrangements can turn this into a very cohesive overall concept.
The theme of wine can also be wonderfully integrated into the overall experience of a wedding along the German Wine Route. Instead of just offering drinks, wine can become part of the entire evening – from the aperitif to accompanying the dinner and even a personal selection for your guests.
At the same time, I would also make sure here that the concept not only looks good, but also works from an organisational point of view. How can your desired schedule be implemented? Which areas can be used for the ceremony, reception and dinner? What equipment is already available and what needs to be organised additionally?
Because especially with a special venue, it is important not only to see the potential of the place, but also to check what is actually possible for your specific wedding.
The most beautiful wedding venue is not automatically the right one
If you see a venue that you instantly fall in love with, the temptation is high to book straight away. Especially when it comes to special wedding venues, however, I wouldn't just look at, How lovely the place is, but above all, how well it fits your planned wedding.
Because many things are difficult to assess during an initial viewing.
How good is the food actually? A lovely menu on a card still doesn't tell you anything about what the quality will be like later at your wedding. How flexible is the kitchen team if you have specific requests or want to structure the menu differently?
What is the service like? How many waiting staff are actually scheduled for a wedding with your number of guests? How attentive is the service during dinner? And who makes sure that everything runs as planned in the evening?
There are also major differences between the locations in terms of organisation. How flexible is the team if you want to implement your own workflow? Can you hold the drinks reception wherever you envisage it? Is a celebrant-led ceremony possible at your desired location? Can you have dinner start later or structure the evening differently?
Another point that couples often overlook during a viewing is the existing technology.
At first glance, everything might look well-equipped. But is the existing sound and lighting equipment really sufficient for your wedding? Is the quality high enough for a sophisticated celebration? Do you need additional equipment for speeches, a DJ, band, lighting, or the dance floor? And if external equipment is needed: what additional costs will that incur?
The same applies to furniture, crockery, glassware, table linen or outdoor equipment. What is actually included in the price and what is charged extra?
Collaboration with external service providers can also be crucial. Some venues prefer or exclusively work with certain partners. Others give you a free hand in your choice.
What couples often do not know: at some venues or venue networks, suppliers can pay to be featured on a preferred or recommended partner list. This does not automatically mean that these suppliers are very good.
Particularly with a high-end wedding, it is therefore worth taking a closer look: does the service provider really fit your ideas and your budget? Are there comparable providers outside of the venue's recommendations? And might higher costs arise because you are tied to certain partners or other providers have to pay additional fees?
Therefore, it is important for me not to choose service providers based on, who works with the venue, but rather on who is the right fit for you and your wedding in terms of professional expertise, personality and quality.
This is precisely where, for me, the difference lies between a pretty venue and a venue that truly suits your wedding.
A venue can be stunning and still not be the right choice for you. Perhaps the food is not up to the standard you want. Perhaps the service is too inflexible. Perhaps you have to buy in significantly more technology and equipment than initially thought. Or the venue only allows your desired schedule with a lot of compromises.
These things are often not recognisable on an initial viewing.
A location manager naturally knows their venue very well and will show you what is possible there. My task is additionally to take on the perspective of your wedding: What do you need for your specific schedule, your standards and your guests – and can this venue actually deliver that?
Because in the end, it's not just the venue that should look stunning in the photos. It also has to work behind the scenes.
What defines a wedding with Tuscan vibes
For me, it is above all the little things that make a Mediterranean wedding.
A relaxed outdoor reception.
A good glass of wine.
A long table where everyone sits together.
Good food that doesn't have to be unnecessarily complicated.
Candles, when it gets dark later.
Music that suits the evening.
And above all, enough time for your guests.
Especially with a concept like this, I wouldn't plan the schedule too tightly. Your guests should have time to talk to each other, eat and enjoy the evening.
The food can take centre stage
If you want Tuscan vibes for your wedding, I would pay particular attention to the catering.
Not every dish has to be Italian.
Much more important are high-quality products, a good menu and a catering team that suits you and the venue.
Perhaps you would like to start with an extended aperitif and offer various small dishes. This is followed by a set dinner or a sharing concept, where the dishes are enjoyed together at the table.
You can also carry on the concept with the drinks – with a good selection of wine, a matching aperitif and perhaps a special signature drink.
Good food is not an item one should skimp on for a high-end wedding.
Why planning is especially important for unusual venues
A wedding in an unusual venue can be wonderful. At the same time, there is often more to organise than at a traditional wedding hotel.
Catering, furniture, technology, lighting, floristry, decoration, service, setup and logistics must be coordinated with one another.
On top of that come the questions that, as a couple, you might not even have on your radar beforehand.
Where can the guests arrive?
Where does the wedding ceremony take place, and who is coordinating the schedule?
How does the transition to the aperitif work?
Where is the dinner being set up?
What happens during the assembly?
What is the plan if it rains?
And how does the dinner turn into a great party later on?
It is precisely these things that I want to take off your hands.
How much does a Tuscan-vibe wedding around Frankfurt cost?
For a high-end wedding with about 70 guests, I would budget with a Total budget from around €60,000 calculate.
This is not just about the location, food and drinks. Added to this are floristry and decoration, photography and videography, music and entertainment, equipment, stationery, styling, the cake, transport and other individual services, among other things.
Depending on the venue and scope, the budget can, of course, be significantly higher.
There are virtually no limits to how high it can go.
For me, though, it is not about spending as much money as possible. Even with a generous budget, every decision should have a purpose.
If, for example, good food is particularly important to you, I would invest accordingly there. If elaborate floral arrangements are not important to you, you don't need to allocate an unnecessarily large budget for them.
It is about using your budget in a way that suits you.
Wedding in Frankfurt instead of a destination wedding?
Perhaps you thought until now that a wedding with Tuscany vibes only works as a destination wedding.
That's not necessary.
Especially for couples from Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region, a wedding in the area can be an interesting alternative. Your guests won't have a long journey, overnight accommodation is easier to organise, and yet you can choose a venue that differs significantly from a traditional wedding venue.
And here too, you can turn the wedding into a whole weekend.
Friday dinner together.
Saturday, wedding and party.
Sunday breakfast with your guests.
That way you have more time together without having to travel far.
Not every wedding needs a traditional wedding venue
That is perhaps one of the reasons why I find special locations so exciting.
You don't have to automatically get married in a traditional wedding venue just because you're planning a wedding.
Sometimes it is precisely the venue that was not originally intended as a typical wedding venue that is interesting.
However, this must be examined in detail beforehand, what is actually possible there and what needs to be organised in addition.
And that is precisely where I see my role as a wedding planner.
I don't just know nice locations. I also take a look at, whether they work for your specific wedding.
